I like climbing mountains. When I was six years old, I started climbing mountains with my father. My father really likes mountains so he often goes hiking in the mountains. He wants me to like this sport too. So he sometimes takes me to Yunmeng Mountains. I always walk after my father, slowly or quickly, nothing on my back, but my father always takes a heavy bag with him. I think I like going to the mountains with my father. Now I can climb mountain quickly, and I can take a small backpack with me. I put some food and water in the bag.
Last Tuesday afternoon , my father, his two net friends – Mr Gan and Mr Wang, and I drove from Beijing to the Small Wutai Mountain in Hebei Province. At about 4:00 pm, we arrived at a small hotel. This hotel is at the foot of the mountain. We stayed there for a night. I felt excited because this was my first time to Small Wutai Mountain, and I would go camping the next day. There I met a small dog. He is a lovely white dog. When he saw me, he ran around me and wanted to kiss my feet. I played with him happily.
On Friday morning, we got up at 4 o’clock. Because we needed to prepare for the trip. My father put many things in a big backpack. The backpack was so heavy that my father couldn’t carry it. So we had to ask a farmer to help us. At 5:30am, we set off. It was in June but the weather was very cool. At first, I walked very fast. I talked or sang with them. A moment later, I felt very hot. I wanted to take off my coat. But Uncle Gan told me that I would be cold. Several hours later, I began to feel a little tired. I began to walk slowly and they had to wait for me. I felt too tired. I couldn’t walk another step. I even wanted to lie down on the grass. At that time I found the grass was very beautiful and there were many beautiful flowers in it. They were golden and small. My father called them Nasturtium. They were shining in the green grass, very beautiful. All of us love them very much. Father also told me this kind of flower grew in high mountain, and they could be made into a kind of tea. We had a rest and took lots of pictures there.
When we stopped there, the wind blew stronger and stronger, and I felt colder and colder. The farmer advised us to go back to the foot of mountain. He was worried about my safety. But I didn’t want to do that. We were going to camp on the mountain . I looked forward to it. After thinking a few minutes, my father and the two uncles decided to go on walking. They would take care of me carefully. We still climbed up and another trouble was that we didn’t have enough water. We needed to get to the place to get more water. So we went on walking, and we would stay on the mountain for a night, i felt really excited.
After another several hours, we arrived at the campsite at the altitude of 2200meters on the mountain. My father set up a tent and I lied down in the sleeping bag . I fell asleep quickly, because I was too tired.
At midnight, my father waked me up. I saw lots of stars in the sky. They were shining and bright. How brilliant they were!I never seen so many stars in Beijing . All of us were very happy to see them.
The next day, we walked on to the top of the mountain. I saw wonderful sight there. I was proud I could stand on the top.
Then we had breakfast and went down the mountain. We walked quickly and happily. Six hours later we got to the hotel at the foot of the mountain.
Altogether in the two days, we walked for about 18 hours . This was a long trip for me . I was very tired but I was proud. I have learned a lot in the trip and I know persisting in the end is the final victory.
